Lecture abstract:
Rough set theories are widely used in information processing in nondeterministic environments. Data mining technologies based on rough set theories are gaining the attention of computer scientists and mathematicians. This report is going to describe the development and basic characteristics of rough set theories, their applications in machine learning, typical data mining systems based on rough set, research fields and directions for rough set theories, and the necessity of combining rough set theories with other intelligent methods for processing information.
